Hi Guys,

I have a guy making me a sandwich plate to fit the 120Y master cylinder onto the firewall but the problem I have is that his is off a MK I and mine is for a 2ltr 78 MK II.

My question is - Are the mounting bolts that stick out from the firewall the same distance apart on MKII's as that of the MKI's and is the hole the same diameter as well?

If not can someone please measure the distance for me and the hole diameter as I have a booster in the way on mine?  If you coiuld be as accurate as possible that would be great as he will then use these measurements when making the alloy sandwich plate.

Here is a pic of the location I am talking about. (The pic is off Paul's Mk2 RS2000 project.  I was unsure I am allowed to pinch others pics or not)

Cheers,

Matt

Im not 100% sure, but I think the holes and booster bracket are the same between the mk1/2.

Im sure somone will be able to provide a dead on answer.

Matt, just measured up one I have here in a Mk2. The distance between mounting bolts is 82mm (centre to centre) and the studs are 8mm in diameter. The hole for the push rod is 38mm and is centred between the studs. Not sure if a Mk1 is the same though as I have never owned one.

Hope that helps.

Craig.

idea ---- put some weld on the clutch mounting  tube where in pokes out of the fire wall -- they are a sod to weld up with the motor in ---and to get pointing in the right direction--- it a pain when it wears out the cable twice---
