Hi Bernie,
I have a photo copy of all the details you seek. I received it off the first owner of my car. Its nine pages  and old but still quite legible. Would you like me to send you a copy?

Your engine gearbox and diff are 1971 on 3000E.  The diff is the same as Oz MK1 other than the final drive ration (3.09 instead of 3.22)  All UK workshop manuals will have the info you seek

First step is to find the right specs for the 72 engine and understand that the HP measurement standard was changed.  Power was originally 144HP SAE but they switched to DIN so it was then re-quoted at 128HP DIN.  The changes were late so most books have the earlier specs.  A book I have says that in Oct 71, the engine got higher lift and longer duration cam, bigger inlet valves, new port shape (I assume D port) larger main jets and a 'tubular top manifold' - whatever that is!  No specifics on the changes.  That was also the introduction of the 3.09 diff and second gear was changed to 1.95.  Power was now 138HP (DIN).  But who knows what we got here.  Mine is a 72 but ports are not D port so I dont know if Aus Capris got those upgrades.

The cars came out in kit form, Ford simply had more bodies than drivetrains, in the meantime UK had long gone to D port and Type 5 gearbox, so the 3000E gear was sent out to finish off the remaining cars.  One thing to watch is the diferent tappet clearance between the 2 engines.  Pistons were same size but slightly higher compression
