Hi All.
Hey i have a 80 MK2. It has a fuel return hose. I have fitted twin sidedrafts and a 320 LPH fuel pump.
A friend who is a mechanic and races, says to do away with the fuel return hose. But i can't get my head around the pump tring to push fuel against the lines when the seats are shut. (full fuel bowl)
I know i have a pressure reg but still... when the seats shut it's pumping against a dead stop.
Whats your thoughts - should i keep the return hose or is it safe enough to ditch it? (the prefferable option)

Thanks.
Daz.

On a street car I would always use a return style regulator. A 320lpm pump is a big pump, how much would your engine need, I reckon 30lph at the most. To that pump it will always look like dead head with a dead head reg. Dead head regs are a crap way to do it, especially with a big electric pump. It is impossible to maintain consistent pressure, it spikes at idle. What's the max pressure on webers, I think it's 3.5psi
