Going to test my seats in the mk2 before I decide if I need to raise the seat what is the thread pitch size of the factory bolt. as you know the nut is welded into the seat subframe so cannot bring it to a nut shop to test lol cheers

anyone know if its metric? unf or whatever :(

It will be metric, all mk2s are metric  8mmx1.5mm i reckon, its the same as a bonnet/boot mount bolt thread from memory

bugger doesnt fit? any one can clarify?

Pretty sure it is not metric as I have had to buy some before and all I can remember is that they are NOT normal metric.  They take a 11mm spanner on the hear thoguh, and I suspect they are imperial and another left over from Mk1 imperialism.. (some other body bolts on Mk2's are imperial...

Mine are definately not the same as the boot/bonnet.
I have mine loose - i'll try to remember to take one next i am at the bolt shop.
When i am home tonight i'll measure and see if that helps u.

This is my bolt. (next to an M8 bonnet come boot come inlet manifold come strut top bolt)
6.1mm outside dia.
1.2mm from point point on thread.
All i can tell you for now.

Just to let you know the thread pitch on those bolts is very slightly fifferent.
They are very close - but not the same.

ok just by luck i found a random bolt floating around whilst welding rust around the strut tops tried it and walla it worked i shall go to the shop today and grab some and put up the size! Pain in the ass trying to mount custom seats made for a "L" into a ghia only plus side is the seat is lower then stock and feels comfortable!
