After an enjoyable drive on Sunday on the way back the sound you don't want to hear! Yep twang! Just in process of sourcing / getting made the clutch cable. Who else besides Burtons make them. Mine was a brand new Burtons with probably 2 tanks of fuel of usage.... So if you have one of those u might want to follow this. I'm process of getting quotes at this stage but I've heard some are better than others. Cheer s

There are often NOS clutch cables on ebay UK, some factory Ford/Motorcraft, the rest old stock aftermarket. These would be a good replacement as long as they've been stored well.

Bugger the old clutch cable issue.

One thing I have found over the years which causes cable failures is worn pedal pivot bushes, or the spigot in the firewall has moved / cracked in the firewall and this causes the cable to be not at the correct angle to the pedal.
Also I am assuming your are running a standard clutch pressure plate.

Nope , nope and nope. I'm running a bolt thru the eyelet on pedal end. The only thing I'm thinking is its not moving freely enough when pedal goes in and out..

Hi Matt, I have a spare pin and keeper for the pedal end if you need.

Cheers Ron I'll pop over tomorrow and grab them . I had a closer look with cable in with bolt and mine doesn't let it pivot freely.

Flexible Drive Agencies (australia) 1300363735 do a cutch cable part No CC121. They have the same ends but are about 8 - 10 inches longer than the original. I went forward 1 pipe to take up the extra length, Yesterford in Melbourne sell them for $95.00.
