Hi Guys,
 
I am doing the plumbing on my diff and have a question about what are the best flares to use.
In the picture below you can see the proffessional ones and my efforts.  I am only able to do single, not double, flares as I don't have the tools.
My question is will the single flare I have done be good enough for the brake lines on the escort and what are the benefits and advantages of each?
I don't mind either way but, obviously, would be prefer to be able to do it myself as opposed to paying someone else to do it.

For that male fitting  the  single flare that you have done  Is what I have used. But if you have a nut on the line then use a double flare. The flare at the bottom is a bubble flare.
 
Ps This is just info i have worked out.

RS 2000
Single flares must NOT be used on brake lines and are illegal. What is allowed is bubble/ball flare and double flare. The brass fitting pictured requires a double flare on pipe end.

If you're planning to do a whole car etc it may be an advantage to purchase a kit and do your own.
I bought this Eastwod kit and it's fantastic and a cinch to use.

If that's excessive then you may need to head to your local brake shop and get them to do them for you.
Otherwise you can get the "T" bar style flare tools (below) but I've found they struggle to consistently produce double flares.

Thanks for the replies.  I thknk i'll just head to the local brake dude and it'll only cost a few dollars and would rather have piece of mind.

Wow thats interesting as  I copied lines made by a brake line manafacturer.
