Yes, they are out there. Mate of mine travels a lot out west and came across a Mk 2 2door escort in the back of a shed , Guy wanted to get rid of it as he needed more room, happy to sell it at a cheap price to get rid of it quickly. I was told about it at our club meeting on Wednesday, ( was told it was an RS ! ) as he wanted it to go to " a good Escort person ". I wasn't in a position to take it on but was pretty sure my younger brother would be. Told him about it on Friday night at our regular club cruise, he was very interested, saw my mate to get a price and get it sorted, but too late!!!
It was actually a Rally Pack but someone else heard about it, rang him straightaway and said he would take it - $500 !!! , jumped in his car with trailer and left the same day to pick it up. Kicking myself for not getting straight onto my brother on Wednesday, but didn't think it would go so quickly. Bummer!!
