Seems to be a lot of negativity creeping in to this forum over the past few months. I think we all need to remember why it’s here.
The forum is here for all of us to learn from each other. Ask questions and get a difference in point of view.
If cars were do clear cut we would not need the forum in the first place.
For me it’s getting ruined by it, and I like information without the BS. Sorry but Admin needs to to address this before it gets out of hand as do many other forums do. Only my 2c but I only visit for fun and info. Keith

The primary reason of this forum is information and advice, but it certainly doesn’t help when some people don’t accept the information they’re presented with where it doesn’t suit them. Many things about capris ARE clear cut, as with other cars of the era. There are always new things to discover, and a few anomolies to be found which challenge accepted wisdom. But (as in any part of life) there are those who choose to ignore knowledge and substitute their own reality, which is quite frustrating.

Another thing I’ll get off my chest is thread hijacking. The biggest value of this type of forum is the ability to record and search for valuable information and advice. You simply can’t do this on Facebook, which is why I firmly believe forums will still survive where they remain useful. Following a bit of forum etiquette goes a very long way to keep things useful and enjoyable for all.

And I only caps once! :)

Well said Paul the search function is a key part of the forum because 99% of the time the thing your looking for would have been previously discussed.
These old cars aren’t that complicated .

I agree with the above, spot on.
I've learnt much from this forum, more than I've been able to contribute, but I also am not one to pitch in unless I am confident of the supposed knowledge i'm passing on.

Despite only meeting one person to date from here, I've got a bit of a gauge on some of the posters here: Drewdog always posts supportive comments, NQRS has done some innovative mods, then there's a core collection who just have pure technical ability and can make their own wizardry.

I liken what we have a little to a pub conversation, out of 20 guys there will be some who speak louder and more assuredly than others, whether they are  right or wrong. Choose what you  want to take on board. I wouldn't post anything I wouldn't say personally firsthand to someone.

I can tolerate some of the slinging as such , it's a web forum afterall, but it isn't really needed to get your point across.
In the end, i'm glad CF exists, and the members who make it what it is.

Couldn't agree more with the comments. I've not been a member that long but have had nothing but great dealings with people who have helped me out and supplied parts. (thanks Deano, GTV6Capri & FoxyCapri) I've learned so much about Capris in this short time, I'm sure many of the gurus here have forgotten more than I know!!! One thing that does annoy me though is the foul language used by some members, English can be a pretty expressive language and if you can't express an opinion without resorting to crude language please refrain (or invest in a thesaurus). By the way if you are a fly on the wall in my shed whilst I'm working on the car you would know I can mix it with the best in that department so please no accusations of being a prude!!! There's a time and place for everything.

Agree. With all these last comments and have to say only Admin can moderate it but Admin does a fantastic job just trying to keep it alive all while doing it I’m sure for the love. People will work out their differences or they won’t such is life. I just personally think if you want to make very negative comments and fight with someone on character do it in a PM. If I’m at a pub or party and people are fighting I’ll move away. If you want to contribute then this a great forum. If I’m in the wrong I’ll listen to your views I do this because that happens often. That’s how I learn.

Hi guys, I don't read everything on the forum, so if you anything bad starts to happen, please PM me and I'll see what I can do. One of my forum principles is to moderate only when absolutely necessary, though it is sometimes required.
Thanks
