BEE VEE
.............., my beautiful Capri is COMPREHENSIVELY INSURED for $50,000

Firstly it is a Forum ..we all got cars ,all hear to help over life’s hurdles..
Burnee you need to relax and take constructive criticism..
Secondly I thought nothing was going to cheer me up ..
But I’ll be on the phone to Shannon’s first thing in he morning and get mine bumped up another 20k.
Ps is that 50k physically sighted and was the alleged RESHELL mentioned?
Who are you with and I think we all need to get out our insurance and adjust accordingly because the sounds of it they might be going up a tad. We I’ll never catch the falcons or Toranas but it does sound positive.

Insured value vs real value is a hot topic, maybe another thread subject.

Anyway I thinks its a bit funny how the original poster Russ didn't even mention BEEVEE name in the first post, he just said "a certain Capri of this Forum with trade plates".

Now Beevee must be thinking he is guilty of as OP said "abusing Historic and Trade Plates" as he has gone to a rather long winded response with for some reason lots of ................... in between comments and using capitals.

Hey everybody is allowed a opinion as long as it is respectful and BEEVEE no need to call people childish names.

Insured for $50k wow!

Didn't think you could insure a capri for that much.

I haven't seen one sell at auction for that much

Mines insured at $48000 with Shannon’s and window replacement as well. I will say it is in near perfect nick so I think they should be insured for that easily. Would still keep the wreck if I needed to use it. I don’t know about a car needing recon though insurance wouldn’t pay and your only paying more than it’s real value every year till it’s not paid when required. Insure it for $90000 and crash it you won’t get paid.

Here's 2 cents for ya.
I love my escorts but I've parked Them up and basically lost interest in the scene.
Why? Because all the baby boomers have driven the price up far beyond fun and they are the ones holding all the cars and they think they are all gold plated (a Capri worth 50k😂) how many people have you met with just 1 escort? (Or classic ford)
Probs not many, I know I havn't.
And everyone seems to want to know exactly what gear your running in them.
It's just a car man. And they are basically all the same.
And yes I'm guilty of owning 2.

Oh quick buy that mk1 escy so we can try to put some bubble arches on it and stuff it up.

Just my 2 cents

I am however very grateful for this forum.

$50k is way over insured but at least we know what Bernie really means when he says

We are taking Offers/Tenders over $40k to guage if market is strong enough.

And finally my 2cents worth, Trade Plates are, according to VicRoads, under its Types and Use category for:

A Licensed Vehicle Tester
The above General Identification Mark (GIM) / trade plate holder or a person acting on his/her behalf may use the vehicle on a road or road related area to drive it from place to place for the purpose of then examining and testing it or collecting it and returning it to its owner.

A person engaged in the business of modifying, repairing or altering vehicles
The above GIM / trade plate holder or a person acting on his/her behalf may use the vehicle on a road or road related area under any of the following circumstances, to:
  • drive the vehicle to any premises to be modified, repaired or altered
  • drive it during the process of modification, repair or alteration
  • return it to its owner after modification, repair or alteration

A person providing a service of inspecting and checking vehicles for mechanical condition and efficiency
The above GIM / trade plate holder or a person acting on his/her behalf may use the vehicle on a road or road related area under any of the following circumstances to:
  • drive the vehicle to any premises to be altered, modified or repaired
  • drive it during the process of alteration, modification or repair
  • return it to its owner after alteration, modification of repair.

I'm not having a go here, just stating the plain facts, as it relates to vehicle usage on Victorian roads. We ALL need to comply with these rules/laws, like it, or not.

My Capri was originally insured for 50k......50kg of bog that was removed from the rear quarters after I was rear-ended in 2013.
