Hi, I was wondering if a RS2000 diff would go in my Mk1 van? I am upgrading it and a factory rear sway bar setup would be neater and better than a aftermarket bar. If it fits how hard is it to get a diff housing and factory bar.

RS diffs are English axles and might be  a bit wider than mark 1 items- particularly as the mark 1's had a couple of different types fitted. So far as I know any mark 2 one will do the job, should have the mounting brackets welded as standard. Getting a genuine rear sway bar is not easy, no one does a direct aftermarket replacement, though poly bush kits are available for the genuine item. Shame , as my bar doesn't fit properly and I will have to get a spring specialist to fix it. Not available except in Oz, pommy cars didn't have these. Cheers, Len

Hi Len,  Mine has the back plate diff at the moment. I was going to change it for a better range of ratios.

The MK2 diff will go straight in.
