Hi All,

I want to fit a reliable throttle cable/ linkage set to my twin 45's on 2lt pinto in Mark 2 escort.  I love the Sytec one that I have seen on the web - has anyone had anything to do with these before? I don't know if the pedal mounting block they supply is designed to work with the ball/socket we have on our accelerator pedal or if they are meant to be fitted to bias pedal box setup, particularly as our pedal arm is tubular. Any info would be appreciated, I am getting close to finishing the car and want to get it sorted soon for rego.

Cheers,

hi
i fitted one to mine
2ltr with twin 45s mk1 pedal box
had to make an extension to the accelerator pedal rod and mount the block upside down for clearances other than that no other mods works well although the pedal is high

Hi all,

Bought a mangoletsi twin cable set up for the webers and decided the easiest way to fit the monting block to the accelerator pedal was to pull it out of the pedal box.  Pulled out the retaining clips and tried to pop out the square bushes holding the accelerator pivot bar in  the pedal box. Wouldn't budge!!  After a great deal of prising and tapping and #$%^@% found the bushes are turned and locked a 1/4 turn to hold them in place.  handy tip in case any of u have to do this.  No mention of it in the repair manual.  One of the most frustrating afternoons of the entire rebuild!!
