Greetings all, new member here, and something of a gatecrasher 'cos I haven't got a Ford! I have got classic Alfas though, and have found that a Motorcraft adjustable shock insert, 703-EAX468, seems identical to the fine Koni adjustables that fit the Alfasud front but are no longer available.
However, I haven't been able to find a source of the Motorcraft item either, and I don't know what Ford it was used in.
I have since found, on some German website, that the Motorcraft item is compatible with a genuine Ford item, "5017503, Shock Absorber Assembly". I then found that that part is listed as availble, on the site "allcarpartsfast.co.uk", but I don't know what Ford that was used on either.
I'm wondering if any of you classic Ford gurus might know what Ford the 5017503 Shock was used on, and then I might have a lead for possibly tracking down the compatible Motorcraft insert which is my objective.
Thanks folks!

Hey there, Alfa's and Escorts have one thing in common, they both rust
Can't help with that part number but may be able to eliminate some others, my parts catalogue, mk2 Escort 75/ has 75AB3K098DB (cartridge assembly front) I've seen EAX before but can't remember where.... Haven't seen too many adjustable ones for Escort either....
What year is the car?

Thanks chief. We'll see if anything else comes up on the forum, then. As for the Alfasud year, well the same shock fits 'em all, all the way from '72 right through to '84 when they finished.
Best regards,
Graham H
