hi i have just brought a 1964 mk1 Ford Cortina. i am having trouble with the battery losing charge every time its driven especially if the lights are on due to the generator not working properly. i am looking at either replacing the generator with another one or doing a conversion to a alternator. whos done this and has any advice... which would you choose? 

i would change it to an alt unless you are looking for it to be an original.
generators are well out of date and were some 20 years ago when i was an apprentice, hold on to the generator for a rainy day tho
