I have taken 3mm off the hubs and rotors rub on the stone guards.(machinist said 3mm because it would be a bit thin going 4mm) can anyone help...I don't think an extra 1mm will fix it any way.
what have other done. can I leave the stone guards off.

hi guys went to fit calipers this week end and, I got the stones guards bent and cut into shaped so they don't touch.
Fitted 2 x 12mm flat washers to space out caliper bolted up to about .7mm out on one side.(close enough).Went to fit the brake line to the caliper and the thread is the same but wouldn't  seal up.
Research found out banjo fitting is required for the hi spec caliper, went to 3 auto shops and no luck on the week end.
Now looking into either using the old metal line and adaptors, or a new line. I will have a look around Monday at work.
A recommendations please.

Test drive on the the weekend, brakes everything felt great, then a metal on metal scrapping sound appeared under braking, yuk. Pulled over checked wheel play and drives side had to much play, thought it was the wheel bearing adjustment, cruised home. Checked it out wheel bearing ok, at the end it was a worn out tie rod, it would push against the stone guard and rub on disk. Got two new tie rods fitted, all good.
The brake pedal feels lighter easier to push, the car pulls up 100% better. Very happy...
