Hey guys,

is taking the engine out and turning it upside down a must when changing the cam on a kent? Or can you get away with leaving it in a mk2 escort?

Cheers

Yerp !
Yu wouldn't a follower fall out which means the sump comes off to retrieve it . It takes about an hour(or less) to lift a Kent out and flip upside down compared to wriggling out a cam preying nothing falls out costing more time.
My brother got away with it in the 70s swapping out the cam in his GT Cortina to a cosworth A3 .. just lucky I guess !!

Thanks Marty,

yeah after a bit of reading, I have since also come to the conclusion its an engine out job... I just slipped a new (well, to me) engine in last weekend and although it is a world apart from the last kent I just pulled out, contrary to what the seller claimed, it still has a standard cam!

Might just shelve this desire for a few more months. Cheers all the same!
