Hi John, there should be no spacers between the rear wheels and axle, there should also be no springs on the headlamp backplate, the backing rings hook under a raised part of the backplate pivot over rubber blocks and are adjusted via plastic threaded adjusters a very simple affair ( unless these were changed when arriving in your country) I could try to send you a pic if you like.
Cheers Len.

Picked up the bumpers today, all straight and smooth and plated in copper, looks very interesting....the copper fills the pits and helps the black paint stick, now to get them painted for storage for the big day.

Also got my radiator back this didn't come up as well as I'd hoped, the top tank was fairly roughly beaten out the lower inlet pipe weld is ugly and the rear seam is crooked, but the core is new and it won't leak, I should have stuck to my usual guy. I changed shops as the guy I used was $100 cheaper $235 instead of $350

I have acquired a type 9 5 speed with the V4 bellhousing this will bolt straight up to the 3 litre and at the moment is looking like a good option as I wont have to modify anything to swap over from the 4 speed

Good news from the panel guy today, the doors and bonnet are prepped and ready for painting, the bumpers are all satin black now, I'll be picking them up this afternoon. Boot and spoiler are next they need a quick tidy up and a rub down, then that will be the end of all swinging panels and "jewellery", now I'm just waiting for the straightened shell....

Got a call on Sat morning to go see the front of the RS being pulled. I got there and took some pics. The right strut tower was sitting higher than the left by 1.5" this soon came down and also made the upper section of the right inner guard fall into line. The floor and firwall did not want to play the game however. It seems the right rail has become too weak and began to fold in on itself. I have a spare complete chassis so I'll drop it in and they can replace the rail

How closely did you look at the auction? You might have recognized the top bidder...

cheers

I can't see the bidders IDs as it's a anonymous auction and I'm not a bidder.

Good luck though, it's not every day that a pair of those come up for sale.

Cheers
