Howdy..
I'm looking for a pair of standard spring caps from MK1 capri struts. The keyways in mine are all flogged out due to someones inability to assemble them correctly. Surely someone has a pair handy, after doing a coilover conversion??
I did pick up some MK2 2L caps but they are about 10mm higher and I'm trying to keep the car nice & low (every millimetre counts right )

Hi, if you don't find any, another trick is to find Hillman Hunter spring caps as they are almost inverted and same spring size, a quick way to lower another 40mm. Option 2, weld the hole so you can file/grind the key way back in as you have them already.

Hey marty. Hmm, the hillman trick would be good on 2L struts but might give too much drop on the capri ones. But that's great info, if I came across some they'd be worth grabbing. I had a quote a few weeks ago to TIG the edges up. They wanted $80 and I still had to file them Hence my ad

Why can't you just weld the 2 lt ones at the right height??? I.e. 10mm lower to suit? I have a pair of struts that have been lowered that way. Or am I missing something that you are trying to achieve?
