The Other Half
Hey guys,

I'm cleaning out an English Diff that was lying around uncovered. Over the years silt etc has fallen inside. I looked at the workshop manual at the exploded diagram. I've now pulled it apart and cleaned everything with Kero and made sure there's no loose metal/material etc lying inside. All bearings rotate freely. Is there anything I should look out for before reassembling? Is there any special grease required in certain areas. It looks like it's all lubricated by the diff oil. Is this correct? Theres very slight surface rust on the gear teeth. Will this cause problems?

On another issue is this pinion stuffed? Or can it be machined? One of the teeth has been gouged.

Cheers
