Hey, I'm from far far away, in Malta, and I've got a 1976 Ford Capri II, still with its 1300OHC factory engine.
I am currently working on the engine itself, so far so good.  Soon to start tackling the rusty parts.
I need help to try and understand what the original colour of the car was, and if it had any stripes on it or black vinyl roof etc.
As you can see, on the AVO Plates it says R YELLOW L BLK.  What do these mean exactly? Was it Daytona/Signal Yellow? What do the L BLK stand for?
Also, on the VIN under the FARBE/COLOUR section it has the numbers 97 on it.  Again what do these numbers mean? Many thanks in advance!

I will check in the spare wheel well tomorrow, but I doubt I will find any stickers since the car has been repainted a long time ago apparently.

I am using the mobile phone right now, I'll try to upload the VIN plate, if I can't through here I will do so from the laptop in the morning. Btw the code on the other plate is 97. Many thanks!!!

I have found this decoder online, but the Farbe/Colour section is only for the escorts.  Then, there is the AVO plate, which resembles the other plate I uploaded.  Hence logically I believe if since this has AVO stamped, then it is an AVO engine-type or whatever, since mine has an L BLK, I believe it means the Capri is L(of all the different kinds) and BLK stands for the type of engine block or engine specifics.
The Yellow simply tells the colour.  R, though, I'm not so sure what it means
