A friend of mine is selling a 1980 mk2 rs2000, its fairly straight and clean paint just slighty faded, runs and drives fine,
carby needs tuning, short shift box, no reg or rwc.
He wants $4800 ono, is this a fair price? im thinking of grabbing it.

These things are only worth what someone will pay. There have been lots of RS escorts popping up on eBay lately, some have gone for very low prices when negotiated outside of the bidding system.

Fair for me, just checking if its a reasonable price for its condition. Without pics its hard to judge for you guys.

That's a fair comment from fordsy.....there is heaps of cars around that have big asking prices but you will never if they sell for the prices they are asking. I know I have seen a few RS200o's on carsales for a very long time. If you happy with the car, buy it.

offer him $4K. that'll give you 800 to fix stuff you haven't found and he hasn't told.

That seems there abouts for a 4dr Mk2 RS in good condition but I agree with Fordsy about the offer.
