Does anybody know much about these nissan motors.
The reason I ask is that I had a look at a 180SX for my son.
Tried to talk him into escorts but he is part of the backward hat brigade :(
The car had a knock that sounded like a big end. ie knock sound when comming up of idle but did quieten down a bit when the oil pressure/revs came up.
any common problems?
are the parts really expensive??

Parts are cheap...you probably wouldnt even fix the engine if its got bearing issues...just put a good s/h engine in from the jap importers.

could be rocker arm related, lots of SR's have problems with rocker arms either breaking or hitting stuff
