Ok the jig is up, I bought it, but read the ad closely he says Original GT, he does not say say original GT V6. The Matching number bit relates to the body number and the ID plate, and the engine number with the QLD roads paperwork (his words). Apparantely he did not mean it was a full on matching number car, then pleaded ignorance as he saw the triangle plates and 6 bolt x-member. He also forgot to mention that the bonnet is fibreglass....
As such the car is not really of interest to me, but, it would still make a great project for someone. I will right a few interior wrongs, get it going and offer it up for sale with an accurate physical description.
Moral of the story, If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
