hello guys.

as some of you may be aware, rallying in SA is under threat by a minority of locals who want to ban the use of roads for such events. it would be a great shame if this were to happen as adelaide hills roads are some of the best.
please show your support by sharing this around or sending an email.

What survey is this? That meeting at Stirling?

If those few people get their way (won't be surprising) I'd like to see bicycle events to also be shut down, otherwise its very much double standards.

there is a community meeting being held at stirling, but there was also a survey that came in the hills voice magazine. i live in the AHC council area so get it delivered all the time. perhaps they are not doing the survey in the mt barker council area?

i sent an email to the councellors as per the link above and this is the response i got. it was only from 1 councellor, but it doesnt sound promising seeing as it only takes a few to shut something down that can be qustionable in terms of public safety.

Dear Garry,
I am also a supporter of rallying, however I think that given the current overwhelming community concern about this issue, it is time the rally groups looked to their previous policy of holding these events at specialised venues rather than on public roads.
As a representative of my community it is my duty to vote according to their wishes and concerns.
I think you need to accept that, for those who are affected every year, this is a big problem and it's time Council sorted it out.
