Here's something to think about.

I recently picked a new primary care doctor. After
two visits and exhaustive lab tests, he said I was doing
'fairly well' for my age. (I just turned sixty-something.)

A little concerned about that comment, I couldn't
resist asking him, 'Do you think I'll live to be 80?'

He asked, 'Do you smoke tobacco, or drink beer, wine or hard liquor?

'Oh no,' I replied. 'I'm not doing drugs, either!'

Then he asked, 'Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued ribs?

I said, 'Not much... my former doctor said that
all red meat is very unhealthy!'

'Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing
golf, boating, sailing, hiking, or bicycling?'

'No, I don't,' I said.

He asked, 'Do you gamble, drive fast cars, or have
lots of sex?'

'No,' I said...

He looked at me and said,.. 'Then, why do you even give a $h1t

Im over sixty, so can appreciate the irony.
I think the most frustrating thing would be, if you did drive fast cars, but you only drove them slowly.

I am 47 and consider myself lucky to last 'til 60.

I do not drink alchohol, extremely little red meat, absolutely no takeaway, absolutely no drugs either prescription or illegal, never smoked.

I am totally healthy and haven't seen the inside of a doctor's surgery for well over 10 years, until very recently with a hernia.

I have always only eaten healthy home cooked meals, freshly squeezed juices, home baked bread and live on home grown organic grown vegetables.

The thing I can't defend myself against is accumulated stress from outside sources. I think stress will become the new killer in our society, if it is ever properly recognised by the "authorities".

I guess that was part of the humour of the doctor's appointment:
"Peter, I can't bulk bill you because your medicare card is 4 years out of date". [88] [88]

The doctor's appointment was a bit like going to Maccas on Friday night "would you like fries with that...?"

I came away with not only a hernia, but a long list of "you need to do's" like paper work for a colonoscopy, blood test for everything, tests for prostate, blood pressure and several more I can't really recall.

Even though I am entirely healthy all of a sudden I felt entirely ill. Well I kept the paperwork for the hernia, but the rest got chucked in the nearest waste bin.

All of a sudden I felt well again!

The colonoscopy is do biggie either the worst part is the "clean out" before hand, I went in got on the table just got comfortable blinked & thought that the wall was different it was all over,no after effects so do what ever they want better than the alternative
