Hi all.
Can anyone help me with a method to quickly setup the cam timing on the below cam chart.
( i have no experience with cam timing - or a dial gauge)
Shouldn't it be as relatively simple as setting the crank at 20deg BTDC as the inlet lifts for the intake stroke?
Even if its not 100% spot on for now.
Have some friends comin over tonight and my mech friend was unable to get to me last night :-(

Sorry i can't upload a pic!!?? so it's here:

Thanks for any help.
Darren.

Hey matt.
I have seen the video - it's not quite as simple as i would like - and again i don't have a dial.
My biggest prob is not being familiar with reading cam cards.
Again - i don't see why this needs to be any more complicated than if the inlet opens 20deg btdc then i should be able to set using this shouldn't i?
Are these crank degrees or cam degrees?

Try this Turbosport link http://www.turbosport.co.uk/showthread.php?153027-Dialing-in-a-Pinto-cam as it discusses the 2 ways of dialing in a cam.
I also have this from Isky cams which should help you out - http://www.iskycams.com/degreeing.html

I haven't done this for a long time but someone else I am sure will be of more help.

Out of interest, what cam is it?

Cheers,

Matt

Hi Spigot.
Unfortunately the only thing on the back of that card is the running in instructions.

I think it's sorted.
I checke the cam again and it seems to me to be where it should be for now - without a dial.
I think my problem was carby balancing.
Not perfect yet but running alto better.
Thanks for the replies.
