You dont have to give up ebay sales just because you refuse to use paypal, just specify that you dont wanna use it in your auctions, if people still use it then they wait till the money is clear from your paypal into your bank account or refund their money, you can specify that aswell.if your selling only a small amount of stuff it shouldnt matter if someone opens a dispute coz you would have it cleared up well before your next sale anyway, people dont generally have an issue with their stuff being held up if you keep them informed of what's going on. Surley there is some sort of law against ebay forcing you to use paypal anyway. theres almost as many people now that have had a bad experience with paypal as with ebay.....

PayPal have just been hassling my band because there was an issue with the address and seeing as the band is listed as an organisation, PayPal asked that a letter needs to be written from the director of the organisation to the secretary saying that the address has been changed, and have the secretary sign it, then return it to the director who has to sign off on the secretary's signature, then forward the letter to paypal.

We said to paypal that there are two guys in charge of the group and they do everything, they still insisted that the letter be written. So basically what they're asking is that one guy writes a letter to himself, signs it, then gives it back to himself and signs it again.

Pretty funny really hahaha.

So I tried to list my item tonight, only to be told that "if I didn't give Ebay permission to automatically take money from my account they would deny my right to sell on ebay.

So I guess that means I just have to "trust" they take the right amount of money from my bank each time?? It makes me sick.

Ihad an issue with PayPal a couple of years ago when I sold some items to a guy in the States.
he payed and asked for me not to send them till he was ready. After a few weeks he filed an item not received dispute, which he emailed me and told me to ignore,as he was only doing it to protect himself.
After 2 months,he asked me to post them, regular sea post.I did this and kept all of the documentation.
Paypal then advised me that my account had been frozen due to the buyer esculating the dispute to a claim.
I furnished al of the proof of postage to them within the given time frame, only to have the claim awarded in the buyers favour.
This ,I disputed,with no success.
they closed my paypal account and sent the account to a debt collecter.I disputed this, but was told I had to pay it,which I did.
Due to this,I am down 3 very rare 1/3 scale ,remote controlled go karts worth around $1100 each,$135 freight and a lot of stress.

I guess it makes you only the wiser. No matter if you buy or sell, you will get screwed buy someone who knows how to rost the system.

All you have to do as a buyer is pay using paypal, and hopefully the seller doesnt send by regd mail and bammo, u file a not recieved item, as the seller cant prove they sent it to ur address. And then the buyer gets their refund. What a crock of crap. As we almost got done by this, our paypal was frozen for nearly a week as the idiot filed a not recieved item as it was 1 day late, and then didn't fix the paypal thing.
