Hi Guys,
There's some fiberglass bumperettes on Gumtree like the 3100's had.
They also have standard bumperettes without the indicator cutout, which is what i'm interested in.
I've always liked the whole bumperette look, but have not seen any before that would suit standard headlight arrangement.

My question to the brainstrust is to ask if anyone has had experience with 'chrome finish' paint?
These are f/g and ideally I would have liked metal to match the rear bar, but if theres a semi-decent chrome product that works, I might give it a go.
cheers

Agree with Hotboostgt , when i was working at Quickco Motorsport , (the boss) entered the Classic Adelaide and to get his mk1 BDA as lightweight as possible we'd make ultra thin bumpers and get them chromed and they did show all the minor dips and 'print through' from the woven fglass ...... didn't matter on a race car but I'd think it thru for a neat road car..

thanks guys, I think i'll hang out until some manner of steel ones ever pop up.
I had an old front bar cut down and rechromed many years ago, but without the curved ends it looked pretty agricultural. What I should have done was had the formed ends rewelded onto these cut down ones, but I was younger and more foolish at the time, plus I cant weld for nuts.

Gotta have deep pockets for that lot! You can also get chrome finish vinyl sheeting which might give a better coverage without showing too many flaws in the bumper. Finish is everything so some rubbing down and fill primer might give you a good base to start if your items aren't gel cote finish.

Reviews on Harrington group bumpers are not universally positive I'm afraid. Some customers have found they don't have bolt holes in the right place, that the shape isn't correct and the metal is too thin (compared to originals), and that the stainless steel isn't as reflective a real chrome plating. These comments aren't about the Capri bumpers specifically though; just a case of buyer beware.

looks like the Capri fund my be too dried up too much atm to stump up for some Harrington offerings, gotta love kids turning 18, needing cars/driving tests/license and uni fees and books.

On another note, Rare spares just send a repro  "Heaths Geelong" window dealer decal I ordered about 3 months ago.
Dad used to work at Heaths, and I think would get a kick seeing the sticker on the back of the Capri.
Thanks all for your input, I'll put the bumperettes back on the one day list.
