I just don't know about using this diff. Problem is I have no motor or box for the car yet but don't want to set everything up and make new drive shaft for it. The car will eventually get a V6 put back in it and whilst not to be concourse it should at least have fairly stock standard running gear. I think

PJ you may be right, the factory diff could not handle the power, lasted only 3 years, this one has not failed, two gearboxes latter still going strong.
This whole conversion costed less than $100 in the day, including the centre. I have a BW for my next project I picked up for a good price and it has receipts for over $4000.

If what you have is infact a Holden Diff housing and centre it would easily handle a V6 output. Holden run these centres in the XU1 and some of there V8 range. If it works then why change it, spend money in other areas.

Wow! I must be doing something very wrong.
I have been driving my Escorts almost every day since May 1980. Rain, hail or shine.
Never have had to replace any diff or gear box. Only one engine because the oil rings wore out.
 

John must be the way you try to drive it as there are lots of cars out there with more then 70.9HP and dont break them.My little 1600 has 130 and did not break and diffs or gearboxes so it must just be the way you drive.
PS Lucky you like fishing on here John as you wouldn't catch anything in your car with all that HP.
