Hi Spud,

A question re the Commodore fuel pump unit you are using, i'm looking to do the same conversion.
Are you using the fuel gauge sender on the Commodore pump or sticking with the Capri one?

Cheers,
Steve

Ive fitted off the vacuum pump - it works very well!

Spud. Did you use a vacuum switch on the Hella pump?

I’m still using the Capri sender. Yes, running a vacuum switch

I had problems with the generic vacuum switch. Changed over to one of these and very adjustable  https://au.rs-online.com/web/p/pressure-vacuum-switches/2895513/  Normally closed and operates a relay.

Make sure you use a one way valve between the pump and the vacuum switch/booster otherwise it just spins the pump backwards when the pump turns off. I used a Festo H-QS-8 but there are plenty of other types.

I had thought about trying to use the Commodore sender simply because it is a much newer design, but I doubt it would send a compatible signal to the fuel gauge. I think I will keep the Capri sender as well just for the sake of simplicity!

They were busy wiring mine up when I arrived today

After they’re done, back home to finish plumbing- then they’ll fit off the motec
