Put the new engine in this one the other day - started up really nice! This is the engine I want to inject - has a bit more clout than the old one. Now its just a matter of setting a date and changing everything else over a couple of days before ....

Are you using the destributor to perform timing duties or will it just supply the ECU with engine position and distribute the spark with the ECU giving timing?
 
What ECU have you decided to go with?

I think your engine bay looks a bit cluttered Spud, I have a nice Capri 1600GT engine we could swap for...

Going motec. The distributor just does the crank angle thing etc

No- I have a few of those already 😁

Ive been slack on this one to. I blame it all on wiggy - he keeps selling me capri's - each of which captures my imagination - i start on each one and don't finish the last. 
 
Anyway, the new engine is in and running. Took me a while to iron out all of the bugs - i wanted to have it running well before i injected it - that way, at least we know if something isn't right it'll be with the computer / injection set up
Ive fitted off the vacuum pump - it works very well!
 
No drilling - i made up a bracket which bolts on to existing.
 

 
ive fitted the apertures for the lambda sensors
 
 
anyway, its all ready to go now - i just have to make a time with the computer guy, fit out the intake, tank, lines etc in the days before and truck it down. He'll fit off the gear, wire it up and hopefully the joy will be complete ..
 

 
I'm hopeful the modified engine will work better with this triple throttle body set up than a standard one
 

Don’t blame me Spud. You get yourself into all this trouble yourself haha and I do the same.
Very interested to know how this one works out as seems perfect for the Essex V6 and really always wanted something like it.

Yes, ive been promised Ill be pleased with the result - smoother, more responsive and more power!
 
(No if hadn't brought your cars i would have found others - it is a real juggle at the mo - work, 8 acres, chooks etc)

I like the color of the Capri, it will be interesting to see how much better it'll run.

Started fitting off all of the injection gear - booked in for its MOTEC computer later this month. The dizzy and intake all done.




Fitting a new intake is very satisfying ( I think the heads have never been shaved either). It just plonked down so nice and true
