Don't bother

There's only one way to do it - spend the money on the later gear - with all the relevant electronics - or stick with the carby

I'm going motec

I saw a guy trying to start his mk1 cortina at the Melbourne concourse the other week - oh joy - they ended up pushing him

I'm hoping (😩) the injection will iron out a lot of this potential crap - I'll know I can just get in, turn the key - and off she goes (even my stupid Yaris can do that)

i went to steal a part today and scored a bracket for the vacuum pump and an appropriate filler neck for the fuel tank (which I'll graft onto the capri one) - try to do something on that car every day, no matter how small

Had the spacers made up - now I can figure out the air cleaner arrangement.

Found a nice little space for the fuel pressure gauge...

Is that how a facelift wiring loom enters the cab.

Yep

The same pressings (on the firewall) are apparent on the passengers side - so I'll bore a hole and run the loom for the computer thru there

Jamman
I used the Hella ULP30 with it mounted in the rear under the spare tyre cover. Made a vacuum tank approx 60 dia x 150mm long. I used a pneumatic 8mm line one way valve and vacuum switch for control. Photos of the brackets I machined.

Notice the bonnet Spud only now with injection stickers and paint. Nice.
Jamman welcome back.
My unmistakable bonnet from the Perana. Some like some don’t but everyone knows this one from SA purely by its mark.

hey Spud, I never realised you had a Capri the same color as mine (although it was probably a fair bet as due to how many actual cars you seem to have around)
I've not seen another one in the flesh in Ice Blue or Blue ice whatever its called..

Now I know how my car would look with bumperettes.
Spud I'm guessing yours are original from the rest of the car, but are they fibreglass or steel?

Anybody know if the fibreglass ones that pop up occasionally are any good?
Whools is probably tripping over them ATM in the old country

if I used an external pump I would have installed it with the filter - RS2600 style - under the spare wheel well. But the "in the tank" pump is so much neater

You've done so much machining work jamman - very interested so see it all come together- what a great skill to have - I'm envious

I've cobbled together all of the capri bits I like best on this one - the blue ice paint (it was originally stardust), RS3100 spoilers etc, RS2600 headlight surrounds and decals, Australian del mirrors, grill, T5, LSD & rebels, and now - injection!

Don't bother with the fibreglass bumperettes- (these are steel) - the indicator assemblies don't fit up the best on the glass ones

The car as I brought it - $1200 - stopped due to an engine fire....
