Hey Bruce, thanks for the offer but my bellhousing has nowhere to bolt the bracket too. Plus if it wouldn’t fit in yours then there it probably won’t fit in mine either. But thank you.

Started to box in the tunnel  after having to chop a lot off it away to get the damn gearbox in .
Instrument panel will be boxed in to the sides also as the demister will go behind it and maybe the ecu .
Wasnt totally happy with the paint finish to the floor anyway so doing it again .

Hello Bruce.

Gotta say that project looks amazing. I too moved to Sydney 12 years ago and still struggling with some of the rules for registering a project over here. After building a MK1 Cossie powered back in 1992. Got the bug again and recently purchased a MK1 van. which i hope turns out looking as sweet as your build. Just struggling to try and get panels over here. Also waiting to talk to an engineer to see which engine to fit. But seeing the cossie makes me want to do another one as they are fairly simple to fit. Will speak to an engineer next week to find out the low down.
Anyway keep posting pics as they spur me on.

Hi Matt and welcome.
The rules for registering a modified vehicle are a mine field here , I am on my second engineer now as the first was intent on being difficult .
My current engineer is practical and actually makes sense , he is not just looking to relieve me of money so I am learning a lot on what you need to do and what you dont need to do .
Panels wise there is a few guys here who sell them but they ultimately all come from the UK and the sellers will demand a premium for the service of you buying them here .
I buy all mine from the UK because I find it cheaper but its certainly not easier .
Hope you go down the cossie route , they are my fave engine off all time and go like a scalded cat .
For a 30 plus year old engine design to be capable of what it is and still outperform most 4 cylinders today is testament to Cosworth
Downside to them now is there scarce and guys who have them want a kidney and liver in payment but if you have driven one before you know what I am talking about.
If you need any help with anything PM me .

Bonus, is your engineer going to allow you to increase the track width by more than 25mm overall to fit wheels that fill the bubble arches?

Blue , got to be honest I havent asked him .
He knows Im putting 9 inch wide wheels on the back but hasnt mentioned anything else.
He seems more concerned about a demister and good brakes .

Not much progress of late -- family stuff but i managed to get the intercooler plumbed in today .
Ill fit the turbo tomorrow and plumb that in.
