cheers fellas

i know what you blokes are saying and mean ...
but considering that im already cutting into the quaters for the steel bubble arches , putting on the round light front end ,  its sought of lost its original stance in one way by fitting the above parts ,,

and i think its just really if i sell it which i doubt only a rear beaver panel that you can buy repressed anyway and fit it back on ...

ive always wanted to fit round lights of a 240k on my very first escort  which never happen
due to being young and silly and brought other cars ..
i like the look of being behind a skyline with the round tailights  for some reason , and thought they would look good and different on the mk1 with the bubble arches ...

the mk1 is not a gt or anything like that just plain old L model im also thinhking of putting in a fully alloy interior  and the half roll cage ....
i just have it in my head to build the escort i have always wanted to do 30 yrs ago...

Maybe you could photoshop it to see whether you like it before you start cutting metal.

Go for it, it sounds like something you've had pictured for a while.

One of the old CF mags Whooligan was selling off had a pastel blue Mk2 with round frenched tail lights, removed door handles, delipped gutters, Rs 2000 nose, X pack guards etc.

I would have been happy with the original car before it was modified, but if the workmanship is good enough, I think you can pull off just about anything.

LED skyline rear taillights get my thumbs up.
Rip into it!

I personally think it would look rubbish but then it matters not what others think. If you like it do it!

think ill go ahead with it as im not a fan of the rear lights that are on it atm ..

i guess in one way its really not that much different to changing from front rectangle lights to the round rs version ...

i like the photoshop idea,  will try and see if i can get somebody to do it ..
i wouldnt have a clue how to use photoshop.  by the time i work it out would probably be quicker for me to graft the lights in the beaver panel lol

cheers fellas

Too big, wrong proportion, will look like one of those Aussie racecar caricatures. But its your car. A prospective buyer will gave to factor replacing the rear panel and a respray a minimum half car!

Ah put the Skyline lights in. Gets boring looking at MK1's with bubble arches on.

i think i will also graft in 1 scoop  similar to the xw gt scoop on one side ..

i dont want this escort to be the same as all the others i see about  ..

just a question for anybody who has done the steel bubble arches

do you weld in the tubs to the bubble arches or quaterpanel  i know by doing lj torana tubs we get the tubs about 5-10mm the most from the quaters and use sikaflex to fill in the gap so as not to warp the quaters

also do yous get a 6-10 mm round bar and weld right around the radius inside the quater for strength
