My RS3100 vin no is BBECND07324 - which makes it a Nov 1973 build. Does anyone know where in the 250 built it is and did they import a batch of  them into aust in sequential numbers or in fits and starts?

I think they shipped them all over in one batch, but don't think the VINs were sequential. I'm sure others here would know for sure.

Are you talking about your yellow one you sold, or did you get another one?

I know of 2 Australian RS3100s that are 10792 and 22980, so I guess that the 50 brought into Australia are just random VINs and therefore NOT sequential.

Colour was probably the determining factor. Ford australia might have been able to choose the cars according to what colours they thought were the most popular in our market.
Or we got what was left over after the brit customers had chosen their cars again according to colour.
The vin (number) most probably didnt come into it.

Hi, best bet would be to talk to Len via rscapris.co.uk. But all rs31 are nov'73 build date, chassis no's must be random as mine is much later than that. Thanks, what colour? Mark

Yep - I'll change it back to a v6. Have ordered the radiator support panels etc from motomobil and have pretty much all the orig Rs stuff now. It's close to being ready for spraying.

That was the 73 3000 gt I imported from nz a while back. Just did a light Rs treatment on it.

Mines Olympic blue and 22961, the wild plum painted one advertised last year was 22960 (and originally olympic blue)

Heres mine - then:

and now

thinking of cutting the extra sub frame out and making good on minor alterations to the floor pan - the rest is good to go. The flares on the front guards have been slightly altered, flares have been created on the rear quarters but ill leave them

I finally got my arse into gear and fixed it up - getting there.
They had butchered the front flares at some stage but the beater has done a great job - they look and feel original.
I put a 2.8i front sway bar on it and a few other silly bits

It runs, drives and stops.

She'll have the original plates she came with in 1974.
getting the back spoiler to fit was a bit of work - but they were never a great fit anyway (70's stuff)

a new exhaust fitted and now all i have to do is fit all of the sundry stuff
