Where's the best place to get some new flexible brake hoses for MK1 Escort?
I see the standard replacements here in Aust are about $45 each.
Goodridge braided lines (UK) are available $110 kit/ all three hoses. I'd like to buy locally but prices need to be fair

Thanks

MK1 and MK2 front hoses are the same assuming you still have the standard calipers on the car.  Part number is H1174 for the hoses.

full retail is $40 each.

In the majority of cases braided hoses aren't considered road legal and also have the added inconvenience of not being able to be clamped off without damaging the hose if you needed to remove the calipers or wheel cylinders.

Almost every second brake shop now makes ADR approved braided lines on site. Had some made last Christmas holidays down here by Narre Warren Brake and Clutch while I waited. All fittings used had the required ADR #'s and finished hose was pressure tested too as required. By memory about $49 each.
Just google braided brakelines. I hadn't needed new lines for a few years and was suprised how many brake & clutch people now made ADR  braided lines now!

Thanks guys. good info about the braided lines thanks Gareth. yeah Repco today recommended a brake place down the road who make them up. I've already ordered some MK2 Goodridge lines from the UK, but my MK1 needs some as well. It's got P16's up the front and being a 1970 model, an english axle. I think I'll give Mike a call and get them up from Victoria.
