I have a 1968 falcon futura and I just put a 1991 crown vic police interceptor motor into it and I am trying to hook up an electric fuel pump but all the instructions I found said to get an oil pressure safety switch... I don't really want to get get one... so is there a wire that i can tap into that would work right... like one that has constant power to it while the engine is running?

do it through a relay
relay terminals are
30=battery
87=pos supply to pump
87a+if relay has it its unused
85=chassis earth
86=ign supply

The other thing you should do is wire in a LPG safety ignition cut out, it takes a pulse from the ignition and will cut power to the fuel pump in case of a accident, like a roll over. If you just use a switch and relay combo in a roll over the fuel pump may stay running, very very bad idea. If you use the ignition cut out relay if the engige stops then so will your fuel pump.....

Or as per Shannons instruction but wire 86 to alty warning light wire, when alty charges it will turn on the relay, when its not charging (engine stoped ) it turns it off. you may also put in a priming button switch as a bypass to fully fill carby or fuel resivoir. wire 30 to switch and 86 from switch. Dont forget to put in a fuse at 30 source of power to protect it all.

Why do you not want to use a safety switch?  Or is it just an oil pressure safety switch you dont like.  Having the protection of some form of cut out is definitely a GOOD idea as said above.  I use the LPG switch option.

I too use the LPG Safety Switch.  When ignition is turned on it primes the pump for 3 seconds before turning off and then when the starter is engaged it supplies power to the pump.
 
I have wired it up through a fused relay too.
 
It is cheap insurance.
