Whilst I consider MS as a decent choice for the $$ it does rely on some technical knowlwdge and patience to work through potential problems should they arrise - plus the availability of familiar tuners.
Although this can be encountered with any EFI set-up tuners may be more familiar with the mainsteam ECU's when assisting with these faults.
I think that is true of installing, but once you're tuning it shouldn't make a difference what ECU you use.
You can buy MS fully set up and ready to go. They now make them plug-and-play to suit most ECUs. It will also autotune with a WBO2 sensor.
I still have an MS1 V2.2 (old) in the zetec escort controling fuel injection, wasted spark ignition and electric fan. Can't fault it. There were some major learning curves, but I think they have worked to simplify this in the new version to make it more like a 'regular' ECU. A lot of the complexity was because it was constantly under development. I also think a lot of the learning curves would still have been there if I'd chosen a 'brand name' ECU (and installed/tuned myself).
If you're going to pay someone to install it, then just buy whatever they reccomend.
