I am 16 mate, not 17
Mate, when we (the 35+ club) were 16-17, we also thought we could stick anything, anywhere as well, and that goes for engines in engine bays too. But we learnt the hard way, and the rules weren't as strict as they are now. Take note from people who had these stupid ideas before you were even born.
You won't get an Escort with that motor fully legal and registered on the road anywhere in Australia now. If it's a burnout toy that will not be street registered, then go for it. Not trying to put your ideas down or anything, but trying to talk some sense into you. The SR is good, but bang for buck, the CA18DET is a MUCH much easier and waaay cheaper engine to graft into an Escort bay. And there's CA18 Escorts doing 11sec 1/4's.
