Well I was thinking the 2jz-gte last night as it will give more power and "sleeper" feel, But sr20 would be alright, I am really unsure with both engines.

I am 16 mate, not 17

Mate, when we (the 35+ club) were 16-17, we also thought we could stick anything, anywhere as well, and that goes for engines in engine bays too. But we learnt the hard way, and the rules weren't as strict as they are now. Take note from people who had these stupid ideas before you were even born. You won't get an Escort with that motor fully legal and registered on the road anywhere in Australia now. If it's a burnout toy that will not be street registered, then go for it. Not trying to put your ideas down or anything, but trying to talk some sense into you. The SR is good, but bang for buck, the CA18DET is a MUCH much easier and waaay cheaper engine to graft into an Escort bay. And there's CA18 Escorts doing 11sec 1/4's.

Why are you guys putting this oke down, if he is good with tools/machinery let him do it, don't know about driving it-different ball game all together.
Not sure on your traffic laws in Australia but here its permitted, and I have done this install a few times MK1&MK2 as well as playing around with Rb26 lump in a MK2

Yes, as i said-throw em out, in the way when fitting the 2j

I will post pics of mine as I intend to use an Alloy sump, cross member to be removed, seperate fabbed bracket for Q/r rack, etc

No one's putting the boy down Eugene. The questions and the answers is all just piss in the wind really. As if it's going to happen. These questions get asked 100 times a day on the internetz (go over to boostcruising for a look)
When are you going to post some pics/videos of your Mk1escort laying down 533kW on the rollers??

Thanks rs2000 for giving me support, but how can you run the front suspension without the cross member unless you build brackets off the frame to support it,I am thinking as turning it into a drag car aswell, street/drag. I am also looking for a mk2 sheel to use as parts, with the sr20 and 2jz-get or ge what are the difference with hp??

Turbo???  NO NO NO, go TURBINE (helicopter engine). They are light, very powerful and would make the Escort are real SLEEPER. And when you take your chick to the beach, hit the afterburner button and toast marshmellows. That's what I would do if I was 17 again.

honestly mate forget the straight 6 option if you want to register the car, fking heaps of engineering, even with an sr20 space is tight, im having trouble trying to get my radiator/intercooler setup to happen right now and price wise sr is alot cheaper...also do you want to go down a road that not many people have traveled getting "good" advice is going to be near impossible. this is my opinion and its why i bought a 300kw sr20 instead of the rb25 i was originally going to use.
but if you want 2jz dont let anyone talk you out of it ( if you got the bank roll to see it through that is) all the best mate
