I was thinking has anyone put a 2JZ-GE in a escort and would it be legal as it is a 2997cc 3.0ltr and it produces 220hp stock.

I'm fairly certain you'll find that engine is too long and wont fit without some significant surgery

What do you mean by a space frame, also i was thinking the 2JZ-GE motor with notched shock towers, and custom lower mounts and also move the firewall towards the cabin. What about with rear diff, using stock shocks upgraded brakes also rear suspension discs brakes?

You shouldn't need to notch the shock towers ? but you'll need a substantial recess in the firewall, heres a pic of the tubeframed mk2 with a 2j

No. Engine capacities in Qld are determined by these formulae.
Vehicle weight  x 2.5 forced induction
Vehicle weight  x 3 naturally aspirated

in nsw where i am it is that but  its a 3.0 litre and my ghia is 1003 kg stock times by 3 is  3009 and forced induction (turbo/supercharged) is 2507.5 so the engine is naturallya spirated  non turbo so it can be done right

Why are people so adamant lately in putting long 6cyl engines in escorts? Someone else asked the same thing but with a xr6 falcon motor?..

Escorts don't have a very big engine bay at all, they are tight enough with a decent twin cam 4cyl as it is.

Personally i think adding a heavy long engine like the 6cyl and the amount of work required is just a waste. You would ruin a great handling car and spend a small fortune doing it.
You'd be better off sticking to a tried and much easier 4cyl setup whether it be Duratec, YB Cosworth, Turbo Pinto, SR20 etc etc.
If your really wanting larger long engines like 6cyl's then look at capri's. It will be much easier to do with there much larger engine bay and also much simpler to engineer as they came with a V6 model as standard in AUS!!

I want a sleeper, Also what about a capri v6 in a escort a mate suggested it to me,Well we want more performance from the car as the pinto, zetec, have a certain limit of power that you can get out of them, but I dont really care its my car i do what i want to do so yeh.
