let's here them to help warn owners about issues. Some i can think of immediately.

1. Fuel pump rewire/replacement - is a must to avoid fuel starve/leaning out.

2. Make sure the fuel reg is still supported by the plenum as can fracture and start a good fire.

3. Replace flexible fuel hose section between fixed chassis and engine.

4. Check the power steering circular tube in from left quarter panel - if it let's go power steering fluid on tyres = no steering.

5. Rewire engine fans with separate local relay fuse to avoid melted fuse box - seen this MANY times.

Anyone looking for new looms to rewire the fuel pump and thermo fans should consider Ryan Looms. He is in the UK; but his prices are reasonable, the product is high quality and he posts to Australia.

I have fitted Ryan Looms to my Sapphire to drive the thermo fans and the fuel pump. Each looms comes complete with connectors, labels on each wire and separate fuses.

Recommended.

I have also spoke to Ryan (via email) and he will be suppling me with a loom to suit my cosworth engine into my mk2 escort. His work has a very good rep and the pics look good.

I've heard Ryans Carlooms UK service has dropped off ... to the extent I didn't want to deal with poor communication and trying to chase things up from the other side of the world. Had enough frustrating bad experiences (no names mentioned ... at this stage).

I used CW Looms as recommended from a non UK overseas buyer ... and they were brilliant.

Dealt with Terry, communication every step of the way, made me a rad fan loom and a fuel pump loom and even refunded me money when they sourced cheaper than first quote freight. Unheard of ... could have kept the money.

Then emailed me several weeks after I got the loom to make sure it fitted and worked ok ... highly recommended ... will get an engine loom off them for sure.

The problem is sources to originally inadequate and aging wiring. If you upgrade the fuel pump and thermo fan looms you have eliminated 95% of the risk.
