Going on that comparison, we may as well compare an AMG V8 to an anglia and conclude that all 4cyls are dinosaurs.....

Why compare 2 engines half a century apart and give such a blanket statement?
Have you been in a V8 with VVT? such as Nissans VQ45 or toyotas UZFE range???
I've been in older cars retro fitted with both, more power than you'll ever need, cheaper than an sr20, and sound like they go, like a v8 with powerband. Dont knock it till you've tried it..
