That's just it, you're not comparing apples with apples?!?!?!?![x2x]

Sure a modern 4cyl 16 valve turbo is going to miles ahead of a carby fed ohv V8 designed in the 50's...................

Going on that comparison, we may as well compare an AMG V8 to an anglia and conclude that all 4cyls are dinosaurs..... Why compare 2 engines half a century apart and give such a blanket statement?

Have you been in a V8 with VVT? such as Nissans VQ45 or toyotas UZFE range???

I've been in older cars retro fitted with both, more power than you'll ever need, cheaper than an sr20, and sound like they go, like a v8 with powerband. Dont knock it till you've tried it..

Rant over...

Sorry I wasn't aware that the "trditional V8's" as I called them, are not available in EFI, or aren't fuel injectable, or couldn't be run by ECU. [:u] They can only be carby fed.. right???
Sorry, I'll go compare an orange with an orange now. [:0]

A lot of modern day V8 conversions use Toyota 1UZFE (4L quad cam)

A roll in roll out conversion, mod plated etc is around 10K

So i could put a suzuki 2.5lt v6, in my escort if i wanted to ????

The Suzuki 2.5L is a 60° V6 4-stroke liquid cooled engine. Featuring an all-aluminium construction, DOHC (dual overhead cams), 24 valves per cylinders, and multi-port fuel injection it produces 165 hp (123 KW) @ 6,500 rpm and 162 lb ft (220 Nm) of torque @ 4,000

You would have to check out your local road authority rules. For some reason I think I read 2.5 is to big to be engineered anymore?
