Last Saturday I went for a ride in a capri. No fanfare but I think it was a special moment for me. You see it was .... about 1979 since my last ride in a capri. Its really strange how nearly thirty years can seem like just a few minutes gap. The long bonnet, the sound of the vee six, the ambience inside the cabin..... it all came back to me in an instant.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man who has perserevered for literaly years to rebuild a car to this stage, the ups and downs, such as paint that didn't dry requiring a total strip back and repaint and maintaining enthusiasm no matter what.
Dave is putting the finishing touches to his pride and joy at the moment and I will put some detail pics up when its done but for the moment heres a couple of teasers.

My second car was a Capri and I still have one, strange thing is I've never ridden in a V6!! I hope someone can help me rectify that at Caprication next year. [:p]

+1 on the red with white interior, looks great.

Come on Ron, burn that midnight oil!

Sensational work. As far as V6 engines go, nothing compares with the sound of the old Essex with a decent exhaust system.

+ one more on the red and white interior combination.

How good is it too see these old Capri's being bought back to their former glory. You're spot on Whool's, taking the Capri out is just a great feeling, and something I look forward to every weekend. I drive a Lexus IS250 everyday, but as good as they make those things, it's missing the most important ingredients of all - character and feel. Looks like there's going to be some very, very nice Capri's at Capriciation next year.

What are the chances of making it in time Ron??
