Hello,

I'm starting to restore my old Capri that I've had for over 20 years and I need to measure that the body is straight, panels are where they should be on so on so I was wondering is there a body tolerance chart for a Mk1 somewhere online?

Welcome to the forum Sami. The factory manual has a body diagram with all the measurements.
As far as panel gaps are concerned there was a big variance between cars. Even the factory never got it right all the time.

Thanks for the file Terry looks just what I needed! Would you mind scanning it a bit bigger? A bit hard to read the numbers..

Thanks for sharing this body tolerance chart, I have been using it to measure up my front end and have a couple of questions that I hope the Capri gurus may be able to answer.

Under the Hood Top Body Openings diagram where is the measuring point location for 43 13/64" (1097.3mm) ?
The diagram is a bit vague.

There is a dimension 37 41/64" (956mm) between the strut top inner bolt centres, how close are your cars to this dimension?
TIA

Ive got a Capri that required a fillet or extra piece of steel, as the left hand guard wouldn't fit properly from factory. Its at the front of the left guard and there is no accident damage on the car. Sure as hell i was the first to remove the guard on the vehicle. Shows how far out the tolerances could be, I will check the measurements on its strut tops and show pics of this piece added ASAP.
