My race car was in its previous life an unmolested early Mk2 (pre July 76) 1.3 auto and had a 4.1 diff in it when I got it...

I wrecked a mk2 1300 van (1975) auto and windowless rear...why I agreed to busting it up is beyond me! It had a 4.125 . Also my Anglia delux 997cc had a 4.125 and is mint due to lack of power !

Yesterday I gave the diff centre a good wash up inside and out.
Got it in yesterday and car on the ground, and road tested a few hours ago.
Totally amazing to hear the wind in the seatbelt next to my ear, hear the tyres running over the gravel.....and no grumpling from the tired diff pinion bearings and gear noise!
The silence is deafening
Quietest BabyBlue has been in 20 years!
Probably not too bad going as this would have been the first time the diff centre had seen the light of day since July 1979 on the Ford production line.
I will eventually get the 3.77 back in.

Paul Truelove at Fourd Performance in Sydney will have one in stock.
I recently bought a 5.1 and a 4.7 from him, and have inspected the 5.1 after a full race weekend at Winton, and it still looks brand new.
cheers
