Hi All,

I have a diff centre which I removed from a Mk2 Escort with the standard axle housing which has a ratio of 4.1:1.
The Escort sedans were fitted with 3.54:1.
The Escort panel vans were fitted with 3.77:1.

Does anyone know which vehicles the 4.1:1 ratios were fitted?

Many Thanks!

Most likely 1.3 variants. Usually smaller the engine the shorter the diff..

Yeah 1.3 MK2's or some panel vans also used them

MK1 1300 auto have them too. MK1 manual use a different ratio I think. It's all in "Ford escort downunder"  I'll have a read tonight.

My MK1 manual van has a 4.1:1 diff (think the tag says 4:11:1 to be precise) - I must look at changing that, too short for highway driving....

The Mark 1 Borg Warner diff was 4.1:1 as fitted to the later model Mark 1s (turreted rear shocks).

I was sure Mk1 panel vans had 4.44:1 in english axles and 4.125:1 in borg warner diff's
