To anyone restoring a MK1 be careful when buying a rear screen rubber. I bought one a few months ago and found it was too long. It came in a rare spares bag although i bought it through another rubber specialist.

Turns out the entire batch made we are also wrong.

After waiting 3 months for a replacement one from a later batch it is also too long!

As there is no difference between a 2 door and 4 door glass it cannot be due to that.

Not sure how far back this problem goes but if buying one you want to be careful if it was manufactured in the last 6-12 months.

All the other rubbers i got for my MK1 were spot on.
