Has anyone recently purchased chrome internal door lock knobs and the little surrounds that press into the door cards.  The old knobs i have are stuffed and i do not have any surrounds, am i correct in assuming all parts are chromed, or are the surrounds different ??

The chrome pull knobs are the same as the escort/ falcon ones. Rare spares have them at ridiculous prices, I got mine from Motomobil in Germany, far cheaper.  If you cant get good inserts from other capris hit the wreckers and check out those in suburu foresters- right size , snug fit in the trim and allows the knob to move freely - I used them in my Escort trims when I rebuilt them. Team Blitz chrome knobs fit and are factory correct, but cost you a fair bit when you add postage (think like $20 25 a pair landed).  The set of 4 for $12 or whatever it was from Ebay Australia do not fit right - incorrect thread.  I have not tried the Motomobil ones but everyting else I have got from them is good (apart from DHL taking 6 weeks to deliver your order....) 

Rare spare ones are wrong thread also and wont fit capri.
Should have guessed really when they came as a pack of 4 only.
 
Yes they are chromed plastic, with a hole in one end, but that's were the similarity ends.
 
One day I'll get around to epoxying up the existing thread and retapping to suit.
Just another crap reproduction to put back in the box.
