I'm looking to upgrade an auto v6 from the BW35 to something better. Ive heard you can use a C3 auto but have not seen anything for sale ever. Does anyone know where to get one or of another option for an auto upgrade. At the moment I have 3 BW35 boxes of which one is in a working car and will stay stock. So if anyone is looking for one of these boxes let me know.

Could be your lucky day Wiggy, I am negotiating to buy a MK2 V6 that has the C3.  I would sell the complete conversion (box, torque conv, flex plate shifter and linkage - all of which are different to the BW 35 but swap straight over).  Its a much nicer box

Are the Escort automatics a C3 ? They have a much bigger tranny tunnel which makes them such a popular fit for the T9 's

Yes Escort MK2 used a C3, but, bellhousing, torque converter, and flex plate are different as the escort never had an Essex motor.  The BW35 auto parts are not interchangeable with the C3.    The capri uses the same tunnel for auto and manual unlike Escort and Cortina which have bigger auto tunnels allowing 5 speeds etc to be fitted without the use of a large hammer
