Hi team

The CN36 came out in 1969 and for some time was the low profile tyre of choice for sports cars.

Pirelli have just produced a 13" version perfect for you chaps http://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/page/185-70vr13-pirelli-cinturato-cn36.html

Are they ADR compliant?

Hi

What does that mean?

ADR- Australian design rule. They need to meet Australian standards to be used on our roads. It'd take a keen inspector or policeman to notice but the insurance companies would break out the biggest 'VOID' stamp they had if the worst was to happen...
Cheers Drew...

You wouldn't want to drive on those things. Best for a trailer queen, concourse car.

Hi Whooligan
You have got completely  the wrong end of the stick. fittinng the Cinturato CN36 will massively improve the handling compared to anything else you could be fitting (except perhaps the http://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/page/avon-cr6zz )
The thing is that these are genuine period tyres developed to improve the handling of cars of this period, which is different to a modern tyre. the Cinturato CN36  will give you much better handling on a Capri, Cortina or Escort.

If you have changed the Camber and Caster of you car to suit modern tyres they might give you improved road holding, but the Cinturato will handle much better.

the fact they are such an excellent price and look so cool is a bonus.

Sounds nice.
Which country are they manufactured?

They are made in Turkey.

However don't be under the impression that these are tyres that Pirelli farm out and have made as a budget tyre. The Turkey factory is a Pirelli factory, but not just that it is also the factory in which Pirelli make their formula one tyres. These tyres are hot stuff. Incidentally they also made some for Porsche and for thos that can read German there is an article about the Porsche tyres here (but in German) https://www.facebook.com/...43/?type=3&theater

These tyres are clearly being offered to the "as delivered by Ford to first owner" concourse guys who are chasing the most original parts possible.

Maybe the more modern tyres are safer, and do handle better. However there is a rapidly growing demand for these cars to be restored to as close to original as possible, warts and all, and no improvements/modifications.

This also includes how the car would have "felt" and handle and steer on the road in the era when it was brand new.

As more cars are restored and displayed at shows, inevitably the competition and quality is forced to increase and so is the level of judging.

Amongst other things, original tyres, or as close as possible, always excites me that the owner has gone to that extra effort by being mechanically, and technically, and date correct.

Congratulations to those who are making these tyres available, regardless of the cost.
