been trying to find out bonnet blackout measurements for late 72
 
also what type of seat belts do the late 72 models come with
 
and where to get chrome / staino  style  wiper arms

another couple quick  qestions
 
am i right that no mk1 gt had retractable seat belts from factory only 2 point and 3 point belts
also the side pinstripes
is the thicker stripe on top and the thinner stripe on bottom
 
would anybody know where i could source the head linner trim on the gt's only one i can find that would be period and i think acceptable is the gt xy headliner trim  but thats perferated trim
 
also trying to source a hella h4 capri headlight or if anybody knows where i can get some in aus
i found that the hella h4 sticks out past the chrome headlight bezel and a few of the replacement ones are about 10mm shorter glass lens ..
 
 
 

Aldridge trimmers in the UK do int head lining and door trims.

If your headlining looks like lots of little craters, then its different to the stuff Aldridge's sells, and is readily available at local motor trimmers off the roll. That's the case for Mk2 Escorts anyway; not sure about Capris.

Going back 20 or so years, I had my headliner in the Capri replaced not long after repainting the car.
I tossed up whether to fit it myself or not.
No, pay someone to do it properly.
 
He fitted the headliner, glueing it around the sunroof opening.
Then cut the excess off using a Stanley knife, straight through the still relatively fresh paint, down to bare metal.
 
Not very professional in the end.
 
 
 

Seat Belts.  All Aust delivered Mk1's had 3 point lap sash non retractable seat belts.  You can retro fit retractables.
 
 
Headliners ebay from Supertrim about $150, custom made and fitted by a trimmer about $350, - they are a swine to fit.  You need to specify Moon Crater, and White as it no longer a standard colour.
 
The stripes go thick section at the top, I sell correct cut stripe kits.
 
Hella H4's keep a watch on ebay and your local swap meets as they were a common insert used in Valiants, Chargers Mazda 808's etc - make sure they have the parking light hole as some dont

trimmer is doing the seats back front , dash , just wanted that ribbed style headliner will try the uk mob
if not ill just use gt xq perferated trim
